                     Biography
                     
                     Jacob Hovind teaches courses covering a variety of world literatures, with special
                           emphases on European modernism, Jewish literature, and the global contemporary. He
                           has published articles on a wide range of figures including, Samuel Beckett, Erich
                           Auerbach, Alice Munro, Kazuo Ishiguro, and David Foster Wallace. His research crosses
                           disciplines, national traditions, and media, exploring both literature and film, and
                           frequently the intersection of literary and religious discourse. He is currently at
                           work on a book-length project  exploring the epiphany concept in modern literature
                           and film.
