In a time when the importance of equity work and initiatives is being fiercely debated, this learning opportunity offers a unique and transformative opportunity to delve into the heart of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the realms of work and leadership. Led by the dynamic and visionary Chrissy M. Thornton, this highly interactive session is designed to not only impart foundational knowledge but also inspire actionable change.
Participants will gain a deep understanding of DEI concepts, definitions, and common equity terms, establishing a solid base from which to grow. The workshop will journey through historical contexts, with a special focus on Maryland-specific events and policies that have shaped today's DEI landscape. Moreover, participants will explore how DEI is integral to effective leadership and corporate goal setting. The session will introduce ABC's Ten Essential Questions, an invaluable toolset to help leaders critically assess and enhance their DEI initiatives. Real-life case studies will bring these concepts to life, showcasing successful DEI strategies and providing practical insights.
