Leadership development is a cornerstone of the TU student experience. Towson University believes that leadership is not about being in charge; it is about your integrity, your self-awareness, and your vision for creating change well beyond the classroom.

Leadership experiences at TU are designed to develop engaged and self-aware students who possess the skills necessary to create positive change not only in the TU community, but in the greater global community as well. TU is an ideal setting for students to grow as individuals and leaders.

The Office of Student Activities offers the following leadership education opportunities, so there is something for everybody:

Leadership Lunch Series

Leadership Lunch is here to support our student organization leaders! Join us to learn key leadership skills to help your student organization successfully. This semester, our series has been themed "Let's Talk About Leadership" where students will learn how to talk about their leadership skills and experience in a variety of settings. This semester, we will have three installments of our Leadership Lunch Series:

  • Wednesday, September 14th: Make Your Mark     

       Join Jordan Green-Ellis, award winning motivational speaker and social emotional learning and college readiness expert and author, where students will learn how to network with faculty and staff by using leadership skills.

  • Thursday, October 13th: Becoming a Wellness-Centered LeaderJoin Karli DeGraw, the Assistant Director of Health Education and Promotion at Towson University where students will learn how to incorporate wellness strategies into your life in order to be an effective leader.

  • Monday, Nov 7:  Leveraging Your Strengths: Interviewing with Confidence

Join Lorie Logan-Bennett, the Assistant Vice President of Career Services at Towson University for this lunch where students will learn how to talk about your strengths and leadership skills during the interview process. 

More reasons to attend

  • Lunch is provided! Each lunch starts prompty at 12:00pm in UU 322. Attendance at a Leadership Lunch program fulfills an option for the Tiger Lead Tier One certificate, or some requirements for Tiger Stripes. Please note - This event closes at 12:10. Students who arrive after 12:10 will not be eligible to receive credit towards Tigers Lead or Tiger Stripes.
